Federal Tax Credits for Energy Efficiency
Tax Credit Information:
1. 30% tax credit up to $1500 maximum
2. Must be installed in your primary residency
3. Does not include new construction
4. Must be installed and ready to use between the dates of January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2010
5. You will need to file a newer version of IRS Form 5695 with the IRS at tax time
6. You will need a receipt for the work done
7. You will need a Manufacturer Certification Statement confirming the efficiency rating
8. This tax credit expires on December 31, 2010.

What Qualifies:
1. Stand alone Gas Furnace must be at least 95% efficient (AFUE)
2. Central Air Conditioning system must have an Energy Efficiency Rating of at least 13 EER and a Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating of 16 SEER
3. Air Source Heat Pump system must have a Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating of at least 14 SEER, a Heating Seasonal Performance Factor of at least 8.5 HSPF, and an Energy Efficiency Rating of at least 12.5 EER. Applies to Central split system and Mini-Split heat pumps.
